Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to reveal that they’d like to see Daniel Sturridge arrive at Ibrox, following his exit from Trabzonspor.
The England international’s contract with Liverpool expired back in the summer, where he then signed a three-year deal with the Turkish Super Lig outfit – he netted seven goals for them this season, as well as grabbing four assists.
However, just eight months into that three-year contract, Sturridge and Trabzonspor have agreed to a mutual exit for the former Chelsea striker for reasons that have yet to be disclosed.
The 30-year-old is now a free agent, and a number of Rangers fans on Twitter have revealed that they’d like to see the once-prolific striker become a Ger.
Sturridge scored 68 goals in 160 appearances for Liverpool – playing alongside Steven Gerrard for six years at Anfield – and he has 118 goals in 328 career appearances, which is a pretty good record in truth.
Let’s see what the Rangers fans on Twitter have said about the Englishman…
To kick off the reaction, one fan said that they hope Rangers have seen the news about Sturridge’s exit from Trabzonspor, while another felt that the forward’s presence even in training would provide a morale boost.
There seems little need for him right now with Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox, although if the latter left the club – Crystal Palace were believed to be interested – then the former Bolton man would be a welcome replacement.
Elsewhere, these two fans were keen to see Sturridge arrive.
Surely, given Gerrard’s relationship with him as a teammate for Liverpool and England, he would presumably be able to complete this deal if he wanted to – finances permitting, of course.
Lastly, Cal simply stated the news before tagging Rangers’ official Twitter account four times in desperation.

There is no doubting Sturridge’s quality, and we feel that he would do very well in Scotland if he made the move given his excellent goalscoring record throughout his career.
In other news, a journalist has thrown up the prospect of Steven Gerrard making this signing…
