Leeds United’s hopes of benefiting from an immediate new manager bounce failed to materialise on Saturday after Sheffield United defeated them 2-1 in the English Championship.
It was Paul Heckingbottom’s first match in charge after the club sacked Thomas Christiansen last week, but the defeat means that Leeds have now failed to win a match in any competition since way back on December 9th.
Falling eight points behind the play-off positions, their dreams of promotion to the English Premier League have all but ended.
Fans were left frustrated by the same old problems coming to the fore again, believing that the same players who let Christiansen down didn’t improve whatsoever.
One player who criticism more than most was midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who failed to get to grips with the midfield battle before being substituted off with 12 minutes remaining.
Supporters are now calling on him to be dropped, or even sold in the summer.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
